Lisa Gwitirwa from Buhera District was elected to the position of CAMFED Association National Chairperson for Zimbabwe in November 2023. Passionate about education, leadership, and philanthropy, her journey to leadership is marked by determination, resilience and pursuit of positive change.

Supported through school by CAMFED, Lisa joined the CAMFED Association of women leaders, and became determined to give back to her community and help more girls complete secondary school.She has since held numerous leadership positions including serving as a Learner Guide, and Mutare Chapter Chairperson both in 2020 and 2023. Lisa is now at the forefront of driving change in the CAMFED Association network from Cluster to District and National level, spearheading community activism and action for gender equality.

Lisa holds a National Certificate in Electrical Power Engineering from Mutare Polytechnical College and is passionate about increasing women’s participation in male-dominated careers
