CAMFED International to welcome Anne-Birgitte Albrectsen as new Board Chair
We are excited to announce that Anne-Birgitte Albrectsen has been appointed as the new Board Chair of CAMFED International. Anne-Birgitte will take up the role in July 2023.
"I share CAMFED's deep belief that girls’ education is the road to individual freedom and one of the greatest opportunities to tackle the biggest challenges facing humanity."
Anne-Birgitte brings a wealth of both executive and non-executive leadership experience in international development and human rights.
She has previously served as CEO of the LEGO Foundation and of Plan International.
Before that, she was UN Assistant Secretary General and Deputy Executive Director at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
Educating five million future leaders
CAMFED is committed to supporting five million more girls to learn and thrive in school, and become independent, influential women. As leaders in the CAMFED Association, graduates are poised to change the status quo for girls and women across communities and professions, bringing their expertise to the decision-making table. Together, we are working with communities, government ministries and global partners to ensure systems serve the most marginalized young people, and to scale ‘what works’ to improve young people’s outcomes.
Our global movement looks forward to welcoming Anne-Birgitte as we continue to work together to deliver a more equitable future for all.
