Duncan was the first contact person in Malawi when Angeline Murimirwa and other colleagues from CAMFED Zimbabwe came to set up a national office there in 2009. At the time he was working in government under the Ministry of Education at Machinga, and was assigned as CAMFED Desk Officer, to engage with local stakeholders. In this role Duncan also helped to assess the selection of the first CAMFED clients in Malawi.

In addition to coordinating programs at CAMFED Malawi, Duncan has held positions at the Ministry of Education, other government departments, and with non-governmental organizations. He has earned a Certificate in Supervision and Administration of Primary Education through the Malawi Institute of Education in conjunction with Faculty of Education of Brandon University, Canada, and serves as Chair of the Bursary Committee at his church.

Duncan is proud to have witnessed many of the vulnerable girls and boys he has worked to support now being recognized by society and holding positions of influence. He continues to engage with parents, traditional leaders and other community members to highlight the transformative power of education, and its vital importance in the face of challenges like COVID-19 and climate change.
