When she thrives, we all thrive
Together this giving season, we can make a difference that ripples outward to benefit everyone.
Nicholas Kristof Angie, I have good news for you and I think something of a surprise that CAMFED is not only one of the three winners that I’ve chosen, but it is the Grand Prize winner. So, there will be extra support for all the extraordinary efforts that you and your colleagues make to get girls in school and I chose you as the Grand Prize winner because you and I both believe that the way to change the world is to get more girls in school.
Angeline Murimirwa, CAMFED Executive Director, Africa Thank you. I don’t know what to say.
Fanny, Secondary Student, Malawi With CAMFED I’m able to be educated, moving forward with education. I see all the possibilities of doing better in education because CAMFED is supporting me.
Angeline Murimirwa, CAMFED Executive Director, Africa For nearly three decades, CAMFED has focused on making sure vulnerable girls are seen, heard, and supported to achieve their full potential. That saves lives, alleviates suffering, and maintains the dignity of those we serve.
Take me, for example, by taking me on, and supporting me through school, CAMFED broke the intergenerational, vicious cycle of poverty that had trapped the women in my family for long. A cycle that saw my mom drop out of school prematurely, and her mother beforehand. My story is echoed by the millions of girls and young women CAMFED supported to date.
Fanny, Secondary Student, Malawi If I’m not going to change the world, then the world is going to be the same, the world is waiting for me to change it!
