Host a screening of our incredible film in your cozy living room, a friend’s roof garden, or a classroom, anywhere can be transformed into a theatre with some low lighting.
We have everything you need for a great event. Your screening pack includes a download link, background information, recipes for the night, and a few questions to inspire discussion.
Introducing a short film: Tunainuana (Together We Rise)
This inspiring 12-minute film features the story of Lydia, a girl from rural Tanzania, who lost her mother at a young age, but whose perseverance helped give rise to a sisterhood of change leaders across Africa. It’s a message of love, hope and solidarity, that centers lived experience and community, and explores the power of female education to transform our world.
Directed by Lindsay Branham of Novo Films and created in partnership with CAMFED, this film about Lydia Wilbard was made possible by the Skoll Foundation.

Fundraising Ideas during the screening
Here are some great ideas that could add some fun to your event and boost your fundraising:
- Attendance donation: On the night ask for an entry donation or share a link to your own fundraising page – set one up below!
- Blanket rental: Make your screening extra-cosy by offering blankets to guests for rental at a small fee… all proceeds to CAMFED!
- Snack stall: Get creative in the kitchen and offer a range of snacks, there is a popcorn recipe in your pack.
- Guess the Weight of the Books: Grab a pile of books, weigh them and invite guests to guess the weight. It’s a quick, easy, and fun game… use the sheet in your pack to help with this activity!
- Donation Matching: ask a local business or your employer to match the donations made during the event. Find out if your company will match your fundraising efforts.
During your event
Make it easy for people to donate – you could print out a QR code for your fundraising page for those who forget to bring cash.
Take photos – don’t forget to post about your party online, tag us using @camfed and use the hashtag #tunainunana.
After your event
Once you’ve tidied up, count the donations and celebrate your event’s success. There are many ways to pay in funds, but the easiest is to use our online form.
Thank you! Once we receive your fundraising total, we will share more information about how the funds you raised will be used. This is great information you can share with everyone who supported your event.
