Nafisatu Bukari brings her voice, grounded in her youth and lived experience growing up and working in underserved rural communities of Northern Ghana to the CAMFED Canada Board.

She is an active CAMFED Association member who came to Canada as a Mastercard Foundation Scholar in 2019 and earned a Master of Science in Applied Human Nutrition at McGill University. In Ghana, Nafisatu attained a Bachelor of Science in Community Nutrition at the University of Development Studies and then worked with the Ghana Health Service as a licensed Nutrition Officer in underserved communities of East Ghana.

In Canada, Nafisatu has used her on-the-ground knowledge and training to secure funding for a program supporting women’s nutrition and entrepreneurship in Northern Ghana. Since graduating in 2021, Nafisatu has worked at Elevate, a Toronto-based organization whose mission is to unite Canada’s innovators to solve society’s greatest challenges, as well as at CEE Centre for Young Black Professionals supporting Black youths facing multiple barriers to unemployment. She envisions a world where Black youths are empowered to gain economic prosperity through education and employment.
