Amanda, Student, Ghana

[00:00:00]

The impact the Mobile Learning Lab has on my education is it makes me learn more. I hope it will continue for many years so that my colleagues and my siblings will also engage in it.

[00:00:15]

Voice Over: Mobile Learning Lab sessions are delivered by CAMFED-trained Learner Facilitators. These young women were once supported by CAMFED to go to school and now give back to their communities by volunteering in the schools they once attended.

Latifa, Mobile Learning Lab Facilitator, Ghana

[00:00:30]

The Mobile Learning Lab has helped me build my technical skills and confidence. [It has] helped the students reach out to me through me serving as a mentor and a guide to the students. The Mobile Lab also helps the students to improve in their performances.

Voice Over: Mobile Learning Lab sessions are delivered by CAMFED in partnership with the 60 Million Girls Foundation, uses tablets that connect to an offline server, called RACHEL. The RACHEL device provides thousands of learning resources to help reinforce lessons learned in class. It also introduces students to technology for education.

The most important thing about the Mobile Learning Lab is that it uses technology in teaching, and it makes teaching and learning easier for the students and the teachers as well.

Sekina Issifu, Assistant Head Teacher, Ghana

 [00:01:25]

You can imagine students learning where there is no internet, where there is no electricity.

Daniel, ICT Teacher, Ghana

[00:01:33]

Before the introduction of the Mobile Learning Lab, some of my students didn’t even know what a tablet is.

Sekina Issifu, Assistant Head Teacher, Ghana

[00:01:40]

It helps the teachers to improve on their teaching skills, and they also learn and use technology in the classrooms. The student also feel free now and they can use the ICT, the laptops and the technology in their various classes.

Mahama, Mobile Learning Lab Learning Facilitator, Ghana

[00:01:32]

One way the Mobile Learning Lab has improved my technical skills a lot because I have now find a way of navigating through tablets, even though I used not to have one. But now I know how to use a tablet to do so many things with the help of the RACHEL device, working with it makes learning easy and simple for me as well as the students.

Ramatu, Mobile Learning Lab Facilitator, Ghana

[00:02:30]

The students are able to research on topic before learning, and teachers are also able to upload content of learning before teaching and learning takes takes place in the classroom. Through my outreach to the students, the Mobile Learning Lab has helped them improve on their performances and their attendance in classrooms. Every student wants to be there before session and knows they want to meet any session regarding the Mobile Learning Lab.

Basheru, Student, Ghana

[00:03:00] Because of the Mobile Learning Lab, it makes my learning easier. And I can do anything I want to do on the tablet, and I know everything about it. I can search for information, do anything I want.

Sayibu Mohammed, Head Teacher, Ghana

[00:03:15] They actively participate in learning in class and it has made learning very interesting. And the facilitators also support the teachers to deliver their lessons in their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects.

Ramatu, Mobile Learning Lab Facilitator, Ghana

[00:03:40]

I hope to see the Mobile Learning Lab project extended so other students can also benefit from it, from other institutions that are not a beneficiary from Mobile Learning Lab projects. This will really help them boost on their confidence level and also explore using technological advancements.

Lawrencia, Student, Ghana

[00:03:52]

The Mobile Learning Lab has helped me improve my studies, because I’m able to use the tablet to research topics that are yet to be taught in class. I engage with the Mobile Learning Lab and in my education to improve my technological skills. The Mobile Learning Lab has helped me improve my academic performance and it always make me read all the time. In the near future, I hope to be a mentor to girls out there.
