CAMFED (the Campaign for Female Education) supports some of the most excluded girls in sub-Saharan Africa to go to school, succeed, lead, and grow up to turn the tide of poverty for their families and communities. Our programs are spearheaded by the young women leaders in the CAMFED Association (CAMA), who partner with their communities to help secure every child’s right to quality education. Together with our partners and champions, we are setting course for gender equity, social justice, economic development, and climate action.

Members of the CAMFED Association of women leaders educated with CAMFED support are at the forefront of CAMFED's programs. They use their lived experience of poverty and exclusion to make sure this generation of girls in Ghana, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe get access to school, learn when they get there, thrive in and beyond school, and can unite with their communities lead lasting, positive change. Gender equity starts with girls' education.
