Video: The CAMFED Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Read video transcript

Bright colours and bold leaves bring rural Zimbabwe to central London. CAMFED’s first ever garden at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2019 – “Giving Girls in Africa a Space to Grow” draws inspiration from the communities in which we work, and the young women, once supported through school by CAMFED, now establishing and growing their agricultural businesses.

Bringing together corporate and non-profit partners, and a passionate community of horticulturalists and philanthropists, CAMFED launches alongside its garden a campaign to grow 1,000 women-led climate-smart agricultural businesses across Africa by 2020.

Meet Jilayne Rickards, the Garden Designer, as well as Beauty Gombana and Esnath Divasoni, CAMFED Association members from Zimbabwe, and find out more about how the Garden came to be, what you’ll see, and why it matters.
