Maria Joseph is a Managing Director with EY’s Wealth and Asset Management Assurance practice, with over two decades serving clients in the asset management industry in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle and other financial service hub cities. A strong business development professional, skilled in Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Operational Due Diligence, and Valuation, Maria has a broad and detailed understanding of risks and controls in areas such as asset management operations, financial reporting and various products within the financial services industry. And she has substantial international experience, having worked in the Investigation, Surveillance and Enforcement Division with the Capital Market Regulator in India for 6 years.
Maria is passionate about mentoring and team building. She serves as the DEI Champion for the EY Wealth & Asset Management practice in her region and is also the co-chair of the Education Committee of the Northern California chapter of 100 Women in Finance – a global organization committed to gender equity in the financial services industry. Maria is a NY and CA licensed CPA and a Chartered Accountant (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India). She also holds a Master in Accountancy degree from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa and an MBA from Columbia University, New York.
Maria lives in San Francisco, and enjoys long road trips and unhurried travel with her two pooches, Laddoo & Laila.
