We’ve developed a proven solution that helps girls to thrive in school, and equips them with the skills and community support they need to succeed.
We partner with school communities to provide girls with individualized financial and material support to attend and succeed in school – including items like decent clothes, notebooks, and menstrual products – and build a nurturing social support network around them.
When they graduate, we support young women to transition to work and positions of leadership through the CAMFED Association — the sisterhood of educated young women who in turn help to support the next generation of girls to go to school. Members of this unique pan-African network of teachers, nurses, doctors, sustainable agriculture experts and entrepreneurs are leading action on the big challenges their countries face – from child marriage, and girls’ exclusion from education to climate change.
Our approach to girls’ education, women’s leadership and government partnership galvanizes whole communities. CAMFED partners with thousands of schools, communities, local leaders, and education authorities across districts in Ghana, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe to better serve the needs of all children.

By the end of 2024, we had already supported 7,838,867 children to go to primary and secondary school in Ghana, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe
4,068,358 students have been supported to attend school or further education directly by CAMFED Association members. Often using profits from their businesses, CAMFED Association members support on average 3 more children to go to school - multiplying the impact of their education.
The CAMFED Association - our powerful network of women leaders educated with CAMFED support - is 312,747 strong and counting
121,266 Community Champions - CAMFED's program works because of the commitment of local community champions and activists. These volunteers include everyone from traditional leaders to government education officials, teachers, parents, and former students.

CAMFED is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, making all donations to our cause 100% tax-deductible charitable contributions.
As well as paying school fees and other essentials, such as uniforms, books, and sanitary protection, your gift helps beyond the classroom, supporting young graduates with the training and resources they need to become economically independent leaders in their communities.
