"Sisterhood lifts us all" - CAMFED Sisterhood Week 2026

During our visit to a local children’s hospital, we donated craft supplies, fruit, and provided psychosocial support to children and their families during a difficult time. Through conversations, games, and storytelling, we brought smiles and moments of happiness, reminding them they are not alone in their journey. Using our own funds, we donated 120 packs of menstrual pads, 80 packs of laundry soap, and 2 large dustbins to our local secondary school to promote menstrual health and a cleaner school environment. We also planted 6 shade trees and 3 fruit trees to contribute to a greener future for the school community. We renovated a school classroom block in the rural Ekumfi district of the Central Region, helping to provide an environment where children can learn with dignity, pride, and realize their full potential. Across Ghana, our CAMFED Association sisters have been planting trees, providing food and school essentials to children, and reaching the most vulnerable members of the community, including those living with disabilities. Together with my CAMFED Association sisters, we appeared on Times Television to share the sisterhood’s story and our philanthropic wins, including visiting hospitals to deliver essential supplies and support. We encouraged audiences to spread love and kindness, and to become active citizens in society. Throughout the week, CAMFED Association sisters in Kajiado carried out a variety of activities aimed at strengthening their communities. These included community clean up exercises in schools, health facilities, and government offices, promoting a clean, safe, and healthy environment for all. As CAMFED Association members and Learner Guides (“big sisters” and role models in our communities), we visited a local secondary school to deliver engaging life skills and wellbeing sessions.
