Today, the Enlight Foundation and Patchwork Collective, in partnership with Lever for Change, announced the top applicants for the Emerging Climate Champions Award, a global funding competition supporting youth-led climate solutions.

CAMFED is proud to have been recognized as a top applicant, selected through a rigorous peer and expert review process from a competitive pool of applicants.

The organizations – driving solutions to help solve some of the world’s most critical social challenges – are highlighted by the Bold Solutions Network, allowing funders to search for and evaluate world-changing initiatives.

The Bold Solutions Network, managed by Lever for Change, is a curated global community of high-impact nonprofits and social enterprises selected from major philanthropic funding competitions. Membership recognizes organizations that have undergone rigorous review, reflecting their impact and potential for further scalability and investment.

CAMFED serves girls and young women in the most disadvantaged communities in rural Africa, tackling the pressing and interlinked challenges of poverty and gender that limit their education and opportunity.

Through the CAMFED Association (CAMA) — the largest and fastest growing network of educated young women in Africa — CAMFED graduates use their skills and lived experience to support the next generation of girls.

Young women in the CAMFED Association are on the front lines of climate challenges in their communities. They play a central role in responding to these issues, working in schools and communities, partnering with families, community leaders, and governments to build resilience to climate shocks. They drive lasting solutions that create a more secure and sustainable future for the next generation.

Our climate-smart demonstration farm supports school graduates and community members to learn sustainable farming techniques. This allows women to earn an income and address hunger, while protecting the environment and sending more girls to school.

Educating girls is one of the most effective, scalable ways to improve our societies’ ability to face the impact of climate change. CAMFED sits at the intersection of girls’ education and climate resilience, supporting young women to become leaders in building a more sustainable future. The CAMFED Association is at the center of the solution, driving local solutions to food insecurity and climate shocks across rural Africa.
