Directed by the Academy Award-winning director of Born into Brothels and edited by Emmy nominated director, Jeremiah Zagar, Sisters, is the story of Afisha who was forced to drop out of school when her parents promised her to an older man. Her husband-to-be is not educated, so Afisha fears that she will live in poverty forever. Now she sits and waits, worrying about the future and the day she will be married.
Sisters is one of four films in the 'Every Child Belongs in School' series. The series aims to raise awareness of the fact that millions of children are deprived of an education and money to support many more vulnerable children to go to school.
