The Research for Equitable Access and Learning (REAL) Centre at the University of Cambridge was launched in 2015 at a symposium co-hosted with CAMFED, as we announced our partnership to support social transformation in and through education. Since then, a combination of research, cross-cutting partnerships and public engagement have helped to inform both policy and practice, particularly in lower-income countries.

10 years on from its beginnings, the REAL Centre is convening a one-day conference to celebrate and reflect on a decade of evidence and impact, as well as considering what comes next.

The opening and keynote speakers will be Professor Bhaskar Vira, Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the University of Cambridge; the Hon Julia Gillard AC, patron of CAMFED and Chair of the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership; and Professor Tassew Woldehanna, former President of Addis Ababa University.

CAMFED will also be represented our Executive Advisor Lucy Lake and Fatimata Ali, a graduate in the CAMFED Association of women leaders and an expert in our youth-led mentorship programs.

This is an in-person event with the option to join online.
