Chief People and Culture Officer

TIME100 Most Influential People
CAMFED CEO, Angeline Murimirwa, named to TIME’s list of the world’s 100 most influential people.
Chief People and Culture Officer
I am Chief People and Culture Officer at CAMFED. My role is to support the people in the CAMFED community to foster a culture in which everybody can flourish.
I started my career as an educator, teaching and leading change in educational establishments in the UK, West Indies and Bermuda. Whilst leading change in Bermuda, I became really interested in change practice, leadership and how we support people to be at their best which led me to a career in organisation development.
I have worked as internal and external Organisation Development consultant supporting a range of organisations across the public, private and voluntary sector. I worked with an amazing team as Global Learning and Director for Oxford University Press implementing innovative interventions to strengthen the culture and leadership. Just prior to joining CAMFED in 2022, I supported an NHS organisation during COVID supporting leadership, wellbeing and equality, diversity and inclusion. I have held various voluntary and trustee positions with charities that support young people to thrive.
I hold a Bachelor of Education Degree (B.Ed), an MBA in Educational Management and an MSc in People and Organisation Development.
I love my work which is grounded in the belief that doing our best work depends upon meaningful connections, relationships and embracing our humanity. I am inspired that this is woven into the fabric of how CAMFED does its work.
