Anna Sawaki

Acting Executive Director, CAMFED Tanzania

Anna Sawaki has more than 12 years’ experience in education, gender, health, advocacy and partnerships. She first joined CAMFED Tanzania in 2019, most recently serving as Director of Programs and Partnerships. Anna is passionate about promoting gender equity in line with national and sustainable development priorities. She plays a pivotal role in implementing and expanding proven initiatives that enable girls and young women from disadvantaged rural communities to learn and succeed. Key among them is CAMFED’s youth-led mentorship Learner Guide program, elements of which are being adapted and integrated into more government schools in Tanzania by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST). Anna’s work extends to nurturing partnerships with government and non governmental stakeholders to ensure sustainable impact, at scale — transforming education opportunities for thousands of students.
