Ann Marie Almeida
Ann Marie Almeida is the Director of Development at CAMFED USA Foundation, galvanizing donor resources and partnerships in support of our movement for girls’ education and women’s leadership. Ann Marie is an experienced leader with a 25-year history of working in the philanthropic sector; a strong entrepreneurial professional skilled in executive leadership, fundraising, strategy and business planning in the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), corporate and academic sectors.
Throughout her career, Ann Marie has raised awareness and resources to support the intersectional lens of economic development, women’s leadership, and community building, nationally and globally. As the Founding President & CEO of the Association of Women’s Business Centers, she built capacity and sustainability for over 125 Women’s Business Centers and 500,000 women annually throughout the United States. Ann Marie also created Leadership for Local Change, an international leadership and entrepreneurial training initiative for emerging entrepreneurial leaders. She has previously served as Senior Director of Strategy for BRAC/BRAC University, the world’s largest INGO; as President of the international division of Enactus, providing philanthropic strategy, academic leadership, and community development in 38 countries; and as professor of women’s studies at Manhattanville College, New York.
