From Promise to Practice: Women, Girls, Dignity & Learning
Watch episode 8 of the documentary series Education: Transforming Lives, Transforming Africa, produced by ALADI (Africa Leadership and Dialogue Institute) in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. It features three of the Mastercard Foundation’s strategic partners focused on girls’ education and gender equity in Africa: FAWE, Batonga Foundation, and CAMFED. Angeline Murimirwa (CAMFED’s CEO), Yvonne (a leader and mentor in our CAMFED Association), and student Marceline (President of her school’s Child Protection Committee) were filmed in Zimbabwe, discussing what it takes to support girls to thrive in school and life; the importance of lived experience, role models and mentors; and how policy and community initiatives need to work together to transform systems to better serve all children.
