CAMFED has been recognized as the winner in the Best Customer Experience category in FinancialForce’s fourth annual 360 Customer Excellence Awards.

This award recognizes companies who have demonstrated initiative, excellence and creativity in how they utilize FinancialForce solutions, on top of the Salesforce Platform, to improve their customer experience.

CAMFED was selected for the impact that its internal technology and process transformation has had on clients (girls in rural Africa) and donors. CAMFED will be honoured at FinancialForce Community Live in London on the 18th of May, where its Head of IT Innovation, Daniel Probert, will be contributing to the Financial Management keynotes.

At the cutting edge of accountability through systems innovation

“This is truly something to celebrate,” says CAMFED’s CEO, Lucy Lake. “In 2015, CAMFED was recognized as a game changer in its innovative use of technology across the organization, with one simple goal: to best serve our clients, marginalized girls in sub-Saharan Africa, with efficiency, transparency and – most importantly – accountability. The young women who were once too poor to access education are now leading this technology revolution in support of social change in their rural communities, ensuring that ever more girls secure their entitlement to quality secondary education.”

Daniel Probert has been leading on the integration of CAMFED’s custom Salesforce database with the FinancialForce Financial Management Applications across five African countries, the United States and the United Kingdom. “The ability to host Salesforce CRM data and financial data through FinancialForce applications on one platform is transforming our operations,” he says.

“It provides the technological infrastructure that enables our partner communities to respond with urgency and deliver girls’ education at scale, while providing the data we need to monitor and evaluate our programs, and put the innovative ideas of our alumnae – who are now leading on programs – into action.”

Big picture visions

“Congratulations to CAMFED and all of this year’s 360 Customer Excellence Award winners and finalists,” said Adrian Ivanov, chief customer officer at FinancialForce. “Hearing the big picture visions and successful implementation stories from customers worldwide throughout the awards process has been inspiring. All of us at FinancialForce are humbled by the dedication our customers have to improving how they better serve their customers, and I myself am energized to continue to deliver ERP applications that will help our customers be the best in their fields.”

A commitment to change the world

CAMFED has made a commitment to change the world through girls’ education and women’s empowerment, and aims to support one million girls through secondary school by 2020. Attracting and maintaining donor partners is key to this mission. Using a one platform strategy provides CAMFED with the high standard of reporting needed to prove the effectiveness of its program, especially as the organisation is now starting to record the investment its alumnae and communities are making in girls’ education, providing even greater value for donors’ money. CAMFED will continue to look for ways to innovate with technology to scale its impact and improve the way it runs its programs as it continues its mission to eradicate poverty in Africa.
