TIME100 Most Influential People
CAMFED CEO, Angeline Murimirwa, named to TIME’s list of the world’s 100 most influential people.
Esnath, Zimbabwe Because I’m educated, I’m now included in climate advocacy, which means I’m teaching my communities on how to protect the environment.
My name is Esnath, and I’m one of the Core Trainers for agriculture. CAMFED supported me through school and later assisted me to get a scholarship for me to study Agricultural Sciences at university.
Through CAMFED Association, I am working as one of the agriculture experts that is bringing sustainable agriculture and climate-smart agriculture to the community. I’m assisting my CAMFED Association sisters to be able to be food secure and to create sustainable livelihoods through the agriculture activities that we are already doing, because most of our sisters are coming from an agrarian background, and I’m using the techniques and the skills that I’ve learned in college to assist them to be able to grow not only for their food, but also as a business.
I have noticed that people are now changing the ways that they farm and they are more conscious as a result of the advocacy that we are bringing into the community.
If you want to achieve food security, count me in!
