Together we can
send one million
more girls to school
Every year, poverty keeps millions of girls from going to school.
It costs less than $1 per day to send a girl to school, but in rural Africa, the cost is often insurmountable.
Something as simple as a uniform, school supplies or exam fees can stand between a girl and the education she needs to secure a brighter future.
With your support, we can educate one million more girls within five years. Girls have the talent and determination – they simply lack the funds. Poverty is the primary barrier. Less than $1 per day can send a girl to school.
Research shows that if you educate a girl she will earn up to 25% more for each year of school she completes, be three times less likely to contract HIV, and have fewer and healthier children.
With an education, members of the Camfed alumnae network, CAMA, return to their villages, grow their economies and support other girls to go to school. When you educate one girl, you educate many.
All of our programs begin with an individual girl in rural Africa. We look at the world from her perspective, and work with communities to dismantle the barriers to her education, and to a life of independence and leadership.
