David Eberts

For close to 20 years, David Eberts has written, produced and directed non-fiction films and content for respected broadcasters around the globe, including PBS, The Discovery Channel, BBC, The History Channel, CBC, Super Channel and The Sundance Channel. 

Highlights of his career include the 2003 Oscar nominated documentary film Prisoner of Paradise (which he Co-Produced), the award winning environmentally themed short film Good Morning Steve and CAMFED’s feature length documentary film Where the Water Meets the Sky, narrated by Morgan Freeman and written by Jordan Roberts (March of the Penguins). Directed by David Eberts and Helen Cotton, Where the Water Meets the Sky, tells the inspiring story of a group of women in a remote region of Northern Zambia who achieve the unimaginable: they learn how to make a film as a way to speak out about their lives, raising awareness of the unique struggles they face. 

In 2014, David produced Kung Fu Elliot, a critically acclaimed feature length documentary about a man who yearns to be Canada’s first action movie star. In 2017 David joined the CAMFED Canada Board.
