CAMFED Zambia and the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Arts have entered into partnership, committed to supporting young people’s skills development.
The signing ceremony for our 5-year Memorandum of Understanding took place on February 7th, 2025, in Lusaka, to formalize our shared goal to support young people, particularly young women in marginalized rural communities, with the skills and mentorship they need to learn, earn and succeed. It was attended by Mr. Kangwa Chileshe, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Arts, who is pictured above with Ms. Namenda Malupande, Executive Director, CAMFED Zambia (left) and Ms. Doreen Mukanzo, Vice Board Chairperson, CAMFED Zambia.
The partnership with CAMFED is crucial to facilitate development of relevant skills for personal and national development.

Inclusive and sustainable solutions for young women and communities
Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary welcomed the collaboration as an opportunity to both foster personal growth and enhance economic development. He emphasized that the government remains committed to addressing the challenges that young people face, including through impactful partnerships. Permanent Secretary Chileshe also reaffirmed ministry support of CAMFED research to help with evidence-based policy development.
In her remarks, Doreen Mukanzo, CAMFED Zambia’s Vice Board Chairperson, expressed hopes to create inclusive and sustainable solutions that address the unique challenges faced by young women and girls from rural communities in Zambia.
