Who we are

CAMFED (the Campaign for Female Education) is internationally recognized as a leader in girls’ education, for its child protection policy and practice, and as a voice for girls’ education and women’s empowerment at the highest levels. Founded in 1993, CAMFED supports girls throughout their primary and secondary school years and supports women to transition to productive and fulfilling livelihoods and onto leadership, as role models, activists, and philanthropists. CAMFED operates in Ghana, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. CAMFED began working in Malawi in 2009, and is currently operating in all the districts, working closely with the Ministry of Education.

 

People and Culture Team 

The People and Culture Team is in early formation and we are on a journey of transformation. We have the ambition to revolutionise our approach to people and culture capitalising on the strong foundational culture in place at CAMFED. Together we are pioneering humanity in the workplace. We are in the stages of introducing Business Partnering into the organization. 

 

Principle Accountability

Undertake administrative duties to support the People Operations Manager to manage, develop and continually improve the services provided by the local People Services Hub.  To work with the People Operations Manager to ensure all processes and systems work efficiently and support people locally. In partnership with the People Operations Manager, build a reputation for providing excellent customer service.

 

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the local People Operations Hub
  • Maintain accurate people data to support reporting and ensure data integrity within HiBOB
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of people data, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and report findings to the People Operations Manager
  • Support the provision of people data and analytics as required
  • Stay informed about People and Culture projects, events, and resources to effectively respond to team member enquiries
  • Support the recruitment process, from advertising to onboarding, ensuring a positive candidate experience
  • Monitor and manage the recruitment inbox
  • Work with the People Operations Manager to respond efficiently to ad hoc queries from the global hub
  • Coordinate and administer induction processes to ensure a smooth and positive introduction to the organisation
  • Support the administration of employment contracts and ad hoc employment letters
  • Assist with pay and benefits administration as required by the People Operations Manager
  • Collaborate regularly with People Operations Coordinators across the consortium to ensure alignment of processes and priorities
  • Provide administrative support in commissioning, contracting, and liaising with external partners
  • Work with the Learning and Talent Coordinator and provide cover for learning and development logistics and technical support when needed
  • Collaborate with colleagues across regional and global hubs as necessary
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the People Operations Manager

 

 Person Specification

  • Ability and confidence to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels
  • Excellent organisational, prioritising, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proactive, positive approach with the ability to self-manage and multi-task
  • Demonstrable experience of providing administrative support to a team
  • Highly competent in using Microsoft Office/Google tools
  • Knowledge of or appetite for gaining understanding of People and Culture
  • Working knowledge of using systems and databases to support data analytics
  • Commitment and passion for CAMFED’s values, mission and vision.
