Joanna, CAMFED Scholar, Ghana Oh my God! That is a whole story! So it happened, I was lying on my bed. I was reading a storybook; then a call came through. So when it did, the person asked, “Please, am I speaking to Joanna Gunab?” And I was like, “This is she.” She was like, “You applied for a scholarship and you have it.” I was just shouting! My roommates were actually in the kitchen at the time, they ran to the room to find out whether something was wrong with me.

So I told them about the good news they were all so happy for me So right afterwards, my sister was not in the country at the time, she is also studying medicine outside the country on a scholarship. So I called her right then that “I have the scholarship!” She started screaming! We called our parents, we told them about it. It’s a day I’ll never forget. It’s a day in my life that I don’t think I’m ever going to forget. Ever.
