2021 marks the full launch of CAMFED’s ambitious five-year strategic plan, which aims to ensure 5 million girls in sub-Saharan Africa can go to school and thrive. The Special Projects Manager will play a key role in supporting the Deputy Executive Director and global CAMFED coalition in the planning, coordination and communication of the roll-out of the plan and associated special projects.
The Special Projects Manager will help connect workstreams across functions and geographies, support the Deputy Executive Director and Executive Team in researching and implementing projects and policies, and track and report progress against organisational milestones.
Project management and coordination
Coordinate and plan working groups
Track and report on key metrics associated with plan roll-out
Adapt and update the plan in response to changing contexts
Provide high-level project management support to specific key initiatives, including:
Develop and maintain workplans
Manage internal and external stakeholders and contractors
Support documentation and dissemination of learning
Drafting and Review
Support drafting, review and implementation of specific policy documents and position papers
Support the Deputy Executive Director and wider leadership team in positioning communication with government and other strategic partners
Liaise with external advisers for input and review into key documents
Develop organisational reports to the CAMFED International Board
Manage specific requests from new and existing partners
Other support to the Deputy Executive Director as required
Strong project management, analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to deliver data and insights informed strategic approaches.
Able to organise teams to meet deadlines and drive productivity and cohesion.
Able to prioritise tasks and manage multiple workstreams.
Strong communication skills and ability to work at all levels in an international organisation.
Strong stakeholder/relationship management capability.
Nuanced understanding of risk and ability to anticipate and respond to challenges.
Able to simplify complexity.
